You are cordially invited, and so welcomed to our peaceful world By The Sea, to relax and rejuvenate by the water's edge.  Dunscroft is in her 61st year hosting guests from 'round the world since 1947. Going on our 21st helps make the average of seven in this business.  

Renewal and refinement are a part of the behind-the-scenes work needed to operate a "clean, well-lighted place."  2007 was our year for an all new kitchen, all the better for breakfast preparation.  Rooms 3, 4 and the Cottage Suite have new looks with new fabrics and furniture.  (Stand by for new pictures, soon to post).  "Emily", once our smallest room, is now one of our largest with an oversized bathroom with Jacuzzi whirlpool tub/shower combination..  Even the laundry room was re-dressed in cool black and white ~ joy for my eyes only ~ and our own private quarters were revived for peaceful reflection, including a Jacuzzi and fireplace.  The nitty ~ new replacement windows in downstairs rooms, an old shed demolished and replaced with a cute, Hansel and Gretel style "little house", the classic wood gutters cleaned and oiled, over-grown shrubs trimmed;  repainting and caulking....it never ends, but that's half the pleasure...just keeping it up to snuff.

Our full breakfasts still seem to please; are made from totally fresh ingredients, including scrambled eggs, cheese or vegetable omelets, various fruited pancakes or waffles, or our "house specialty" French Toast made with a Portuguese Sweet Bread with real butter and Vermont Maple Syrup ~ all served with a breakfast meat of bacon, link sausage, kielbasa, or ham.  Various juices, breads and jams, cereals, our own granola, cottage cheese, yogurt and fresh or poached fruit are also offered daily.  If you want breakfast on the lighter side, we offer that, too ~ all to get you off to a good day's start for Cape Cod fun and adventure.

During the quiet season, take the time to read a favorite book, muse by the fire, or soak away the stress with a calming Jacuzzi bath.  We are open year-round except for a bit of time for our own rejuvenation.  There's lots going on here YEAR-ROUND including Christmas strolls, live theatre, opera, symphony, chocolate, scallop and cranberry festivals, and even cross-country skiing.  We heartily invite you to join us, where a delightful experience awaits you and we
